Lewisburg Stroll Through the Arts expanded in November

posted: October 8, 2020

Feeling a little cooped up these days?  Come outdoors to beautiful downtown Lewisburg for the 2020 STROLL THROUGH THE ARTS, the Lewisburg Arts Council’s annual November event! We’ve made a lot of safety changes that will allow anyone to take part this year – and expanded it to more than a week.

Art everywhere!

More than 50 artists – many returning favorites plus two artists new to the Stroll – will display their work, everything from ceramics, textiles, and wood, to etchings, paintings, and photographs throughout downtown.  From Fine Arts to Historic Arts to Edible Arts, we are certain there will be something to suit every artistic taste. This year, visitors will have plenty of time to view the artwork on display because the event has expanded to nine daysstarting at noon on Saturday, November 7, and ending Sunday, November 15.

With 25 “Stroll Stops” between Water and Sixth Streets, you might just need this extra time to see everything. And who knows … you might like what you see so much you’ll want to visit more than once! All artists and activities will be marked on a customized Google map, which will be posted on the Lewisburg Arts Council website and Facebook page: or

Art anytime!

What’s different this year, other than the longer time? To make the art accessible 24/7, artists will display their work in store windows.  Some window displays will invite you to view even more artwork inside. Personalized posters will provide information about the artists whose work is on display.  Scan a poster’s QR code with your phone to connect with an artist whose work inspires you.  And, should you wish to purchase something you see displayed, artists’ contact information will also be available on the Arts Council’s website.

To preserve the interactive element of past Strolls, some artists have created short videos in which they talk about their work, their methods, and their inspiration.  These can be accessed via the QR code on the poster as well as on the Arts Council’s Facebook page.

Even more art!

On both weekends (November 7-8 and November 14-15), a plein air artist will be painting under the. Campus Theatre’s marquee.  Stop by and watch a masterpiece in the making!

Four of this year’s 25 “Stroll Stops” include exhibits offering even more art. Exhibits include:  the Susquehanna Art Society’s Members Show and Sale at the Packwood House Museum, 15 North Water Street;  artwork created by Lewisburg Area High School art students at the Lewisburg Deli, 334 Market;  “Neil Anderson:  Earth Songs” at the Samek Downtown Gallery, 416 Market;  and members of the Farmland Preservation Artists of Central Pennsylvania at the Bull Run Tap House, 605 Market.

And, because you’re never too young to art, the Lewisburg Children’s Museum will provide free, take-home art-based activity kits that will inspire children to create and imagine. Art Kits are made possible by a grant from the COVID-19 Community Fund for Northumberland, Snyder, and Union Counties at the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania. Stop by one of the participating businesses listed on the Arts Council’s website and Facebook page to pick up your child’s Art Kit — before they’re all gone!
