Do you say “sneakers” or “tennis shoes”?

Can’t we all just get along?!?!? So, there’s “soda” vs. “pop” and “sub” vs. “hoagie” vs. “grinder” and now this one is heating up on Twitter: What do you call your athletic footwear?

A study by Harvard said 45.5% of people call them “sneakers,” mostly in the northeast, and 41.3% call them “tennis shoes”. Other smaller factions just say “gym shoes” or just plain “shoes.”
