Turkey Trot draws 150 to Mifflinburg
MIFFLINBURG — More than 150 runners and walkers tried to “beat the turkey” Thanksgiving Day in Mifflinburg. Mifflinburg Mayor David Cooney served as the designated “turkey,” running the course in 23 minutes and 34 seconds while wearing turkey feathers.
Those who finished ahead of the mayor were given a ceremonial imprint on their souvenir tee shirts. The fundraising 5K fun run began at Mifflinburg’s Community Park and was a benefit for the Mifflinburg Lacrosse Club.
Race organizers hope it will become an annual event. Total money raised for the club is still to be announced
